Class 220 insulated, with or without enclosures

Winder Electrical manufacture a range of dry type Class 220 insulated transformers, which are particularly suitable for use at high temperature and tunnelling applications.

The units are ideal for installation into switchgear cabinets or ventilated cubicles and present a reduced fire hazard.

Winder Electrical's dry type transformers have gained a reputation for safety and reliability and were chosen by Transmanche Link to supply the power for the construction of the Channel Tunnel under the most arduous of conditions.

Dry type class 220 transformers contain no liquid to pollute the ground or water supplies, therefore, no measures to guard against spillage are required.

Application for Dry Type Transformers: -

Quarrying, tunnelling or mining environments, basements, roofs or any other location in factories, high rise buildings, hospitals, hotels, department stores, exhibition halls, subways – in fact anywhere there is an advantage in siting a transformer near the load and where fire and/or environment considerations rule out the use of any other types of transformer.

If considered at an early stage and properly applied the total cost of such an installation is considerably cheaper in 'capital and running costs'.
