Winder Powers British Grand Prix Win
Winder Electrical recently provided three transformers to the legendary Silverstone racetrack, and was on hand to see them put through their paces as the world famous venue hosted the British Grand Prix on 08 July.
Following the supply of 3 distribution transformers to Silverstone - 2 x 1MVA's and 1 x 800kVA 11/433V, Winder Electrical's management team took four lucky customers to the British Grand Prix where they were able to enjoy watching Lewis Hamilton claim an astonishing victory in the wet conditions.
The group enjoyed a full day's programme of events, from a welcome breakfast and a GP2 race, a Porsche Supercup race and a Red Arrows display, leading up to the Formula 1 Grand Prix main event.
A historic sports car challenge completed the day's activities, which was enjoyed hugely by all of the visitors, as general manager Paul Matthews explained; " We had an excellent day, despite the weather, and it was fantastic to see Lewis Hamilton back on form with his amazing win."
It is also the fastest venue that Winder Electrical has supplied transformers to, with the 210mph top speed of a Formula 1 car just eclipsing the 208mph top speed of a Eurostar train, a project that Winder Electrical was also involved in last year.
